Garden

It's been hard, with the rain, but I've gotten a few things done...

Took these rocks out of the front bed, as I'm going to add another level to it.... Put them in this space where there was just packed down dirt...

Planted my tomatoes, yes I know it was early....but wait too long and there's no selection. Of course, there was a frost advisory the next night...
Just doing tomatoes and herbs this year, with some marigold and nasturtium....
Here's a couple of other spots in my yard...

Spring Soccer

Duncan's team is doing well this season, only 1 loss so far. Today we played Alex and Deegan's team and it was a tie, 0-0. He made a really nice block as goalie, and took a good thump in the head when he was playing forward. I didn't phase him, though....

Little Papoose

When we wrap up Eli after his bath we call him our little papoose...
he doesn't really like it.

This was after Ian's birthday party. Joe made him smile but he was mad because his balloon got away.

We drove past the Gillioz yesterday, I asked Eli if that was where he saw that movie the other day...he said, "oh you mean Lizards of Oz?" I said yeah, and asked him if there were any lizards in the movie. He said no, we couldn't figure out why not.

Also, a couple Sundays ago, he was excited because he got to sing "Amelia Grace" in Sunday School...

Projects

I've been practicing my knitting by making dishcloths...

This is my prayer shawl in process, a project for church. My goal is to eventually make socks. We had a knitting group that met Wednesday evenings at the church, but it is on hiatus for the summer. My friend Darby is a knitting fanatic, so hopefully we can get some knit nights together to hone our craft....and have socks by winter time!!!

Harlem Globetrotters

The boys sure enjoyed the Harlem Globetrotters a couple weeks ago...Duncan got some autographs after. We sure are an autograph-getting family, huh?
Eli was a little (lot) scared of "Globie", the person walking around in a globe outfit. (per usual).

Baseball Time Again

Yay....it's baseball season again and the Livingstons have Cardinal's fever!! Even Joe is playing in a fantasy baseball league. What the...?
The boys ventured out to Hammon's Field last weekend to catch the St. Louis Cardinals.
Big-leaguer Mark Mulder was pitching, and Brendan Ryan was there too. (They got his autograph!)

Easter

Easter, the first holiday of spring. Even though Thursday was the first day of spring, today wasn't very spring-like. At least, it was a little too cold and windy for my taste. Duncan and Eli decorated eggs yesterday. One of my favorite parts of Easter. I love the smell of vinegar and all of the bright colors. Although nowdays, they have way too many options, I think. The dye kit we bought had twelve different colors in it, which I didn't realize when I bought it. I'm fine with just six, myself. Too many cups to clean up.
Today we went to church and afterwards there was an Easter egg hunt there. Then we went to Grandma Judy and Grandpa David's for lunch and more Easter egg hunts. (After the first one, the kids took turns hiding them themselves.)
Then home again, ready for the start of a new week.

Breakfast with Santa

Well, we got close to Santa's lap...
We got there and Eli said that no,
he wasn't going to sit on Santa's lap.
But I told him I'd go up with him and
hold him. So eventually he told Santa
he wanted puzzles and a soccer
ball, and he even gave Santa '5'.
And he didn't even cry.

Boys

What are the boys up to? We are getting ready for Christmas. We still need to get our Christmas tree up, though. Tomorrow we are going to go have breakfast with Santa at the Cox cafeteria. Eli says this year he will sit on Santa's lap, which would be a first! When asked what they want for Christmas, Duncan's answer usually involves Pokemon. Eli's answers have ranged from chicken nuggets, to a bed, to a racing car. We also are getting ready for Eli's birthday party on Sunday. Hopefully there won't be a big ice storm over the weekend. If so, we will have lots of food and cake to eat!! Speaking of Pokemon, Duncan has been scrounging up change from various parts of the house, into a plastic zip-loc bag, and then wanting to go to the store to buy Pokemon cards. It's always fun to watch the cashier's expression when he puts his $4.26 in change up on the counter. Also, I have been using the old line, 'You know, Santa is watching you, and he won't bring you any presents if you keep acting up'! Duncan went on to tell Eli that Santa was going to bring him rocks instead of presents. So now whenever Eli does something bad, he looks at me and asks, "Am I going to get woks?". Well, Eli wants to play now so I'd better go. He keeps pressing random buttons on the computer get my attention. It's working.

The Boys

Here's Eli sleeping with his shovel and his Snoopy... Here's Duncan at Deegan's birthday party on Sunday...

P.S. to Julie

Yes, I know I told you we didn't want another cat, and I didn't want to have four animals again.... But when a little gray kitten decides it's going to live with you, what can you do?
